Play Therapy
"Fish swim, birds fly, children play" - Gary Landreth
Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate for counseling for children who can not yet verbalize the feelings or difficulties they have experienced. Play allows for children to express their needs, experiences, cognition, behaviors, and emotions. Play therapy is used to address anxiety, depression, attention deficit/ hyperactivity ( ADHD), autism spectrum disorders, academic and social impairment, physical and learning disabilities, and conduct disorders. Research shows that play therapy works best if caregivers and or parents are involved in the process.

Child Parent Relationship Training /  Filial Therapy
" Children spell love... T-I-M-E." - Dr. A. Witham

Filial therapy trains the parent to be an agent of change. In the Child Parent Relationship Training parents will learn how to build a stronger relationship with their child along with the basic tenants of play therapy. By building a long lasting relationship with children the parents will be able to help children with their coping skills and manage their emotions at home. CPRT can be conducted with parents individually or in groups with other parents.

Sand Tray Therapy
" To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour"
-William Blake

Sand tray therapy is a form of expressive arts therapy that allows a person to create his or her own microcosm or world using miniature toys and  sand. The scene created is then viewed as a reflection of the person’s own life and allows for the opportunity to process people's views, thoughts, feeling,  resolve conflicts, remove obstacles, and gain acceptance of self. Sand tray is a useful tool for those who struggle to verbalize difficult concepts they are dealing with and can create a means for expression.

Telehealth/ Tele-Play
" Impressions are like pearls; ideas are like the string that turns pearls into a necklace. The string is invisible, but it is not dispensable and cannot be broken."
-Mu Xin

We offer telehealth and tele-play services during a time when contact has been difficult. It provides an option for those with susceptible immune systems, busy schedules, in remote locations, live in high traffic areas, disability, and those who have difficulty with access to transportation.
Kids and teens are naturally drawn to their computers and are able to engage with their counselors in a whole new way. Telehealth does not mean sitting still and often kids play, introduce their pets, and get to engage with family members as well.  Telehealth can provide new insight into a teen or child's world that might not always be seen in an office setting. It also provides a great opportunity for parents to get involved with therapy.
This also allows for services when either the therapist or client is in a different location, depending on state. So, no matter on if a client is holidays or work trips services can still be provided to the patient if needed.  Life is busy and we try to make services easy to access no matter what might pop up along the way.

Autism Assessment

“Acceptance is the key to unlocking the potential of every person.” – Temple Grandin

We work with clients ages 3 and up to provide Autism evaluations. The evaluation includes several different assessments that helps fully understand your sensory needs and different factors that have impacted your life to better help you navigate what things you can do to improve your everyday life. Typically this includes input from loved ones, family members, partners, or spouses. The purpose is to identify strengths and challenges to help guide interventions and support informed treatment planning.
